How can I transport the F35 in a car?
Thanks to the very compact all-in-one tube design, foldable handles and detachable subframe, the F35's packing size can be minimized in seconds: fold down the handles, detach the subframe and you have a handy package that is easy to store.
To which wheelchairs does the F35 fit?
The F35 easily fits most manual folding and rigid wheelchairs. Please refer to the Compatibility Guide on the Sunrise Medical website. The Compatibility Guide lists all chairs for which a combination agreement exists. The list is an indication of the wheelchair models to which the F35 can be attached. See also the "Docking Information" section of the Compatibility Guide. Here you will find more information about the requirements for attaching the F35 to your wheelchair. Frame shape, CoG, wheel size, and seat depth are all factors. In addition, a straight section of frame tube of at least 35 mm is required to attach the clamps. Therefore, it is essential to try and test to be 100% sure! Or ask your dealer for advice. In general, the F35 can be adapted to wheelchairs with front frame widths of 260 - 480 mm.
Where can I drive the F35 pull device?
The F35 is a small, versatile, highly maneuverable, and transportable pulling device that is intended for in- and urban outdoor use that convinces with a very small turning circle in- and outdoors. Ideal for urban environments and for navigating busy streets, public transportation, and other urban obstacles with greater ease.
How fast can I go with the F35?
"Maximum forward speed is 6 km/h. 10 km/h or 15 km/h are available as options.
Use of the F35 with a maximum speed setting higher than 6 km/h is only permitted on public roads in certain countries, and otherwise only on private property.
Without a permit (attached to the order form and to be signed before ordering), the F35 may not be used on public roads, bicycle lanes, or sidewalks following traffic laws. You should check your country's laws regarding use and your legal obligation to insure the F35 at speeds higher than 6 km/h (10/15 km/h). When traveling with your F35, always check the specific laws of the country you're traveling in."
How do you store the battery correctly (e.g. over winter)?
For optimal battery life, the battery should be stored at a temperature of 10°C to 25°C and a humidity of 20% to 75%. Ideally, the battery should be kept at about 75% charge. If the battery is stored for too long at a low charge, the voltage inside the battery will drop so dramatically that a deep discharge can occur, permanently damaging the battery. To wake up the battery from sleep mode after a long period of inactivity (2 weeks), press the button above the USB charging port.
Can the F35 be used on different terrains?
The F35 is designed for use on a variety of surfaces, but its effectiveness may vary. We recommend checking the product specifications to understand the unit's performance on different surfaces. You can also easily change the drive mode from slow to low to fast to adapt the performance to different surfaces.

Is the F35 easy to operate?

How much does the F35 weigh, and does it add significant weight to the wheelchair?
The F35 is generally designed to be lightweight to minimize the impact on the overall weight of the wheelchair. The Empulse F35 weighs 9 kg including battery and subframe. However, for ease of loading, the F35 can be disassembled into two lightweight parts and then offers a lifting weight of only 7.5 kg (for the main unit), the subframe weighs only 1.5 kg. The clamps that remain on the wheelchair weigh approximately 700 grams.
How can I detach the F35?
There are two ways to detach the F35 from the wheelchair:

Can I take the F35 in a plane?
Yes, you can take the F35 with you since its Lithium-Ion battery is approved by IATA (International Air Transport Association) for transportation on aircraft. Please note: Individual airlines have differing requirements relative to the transport of products with Li-Ion batteries. Before arranging any air travel with the F35, please confirm with your airline or carrier that they accept battery-powered devices under UN classification: UN3481. For transporting the F35 with the inbuilt battery in an airplane, open the rubber piece (FUSE) from the battery housing. Then remove the fuse from the battery. Please refer to the owner's manual for further details. Please note: Individual airlines have different requirements relative to the transport of products with Li-Ion batteries. Befor arranging any air travel with the wheelchair, please confirm with your airline or carrier that they accept battery-powered vehicles under UN classification: UN3171.
